The organisational chart shows the different departments and their assignment to the respective members of the Rectorate. In addition to the visual representation, you will also find a written description below the image.
The responsabilities
The Rector is responsible for departments 1 and 2, as well as the university communications, international office, marketing, strategy and university planning departments, the centre for equal opportunities and diversity, organisational developmentand the centre for women* and equality.
The vice-rector 1 for Teaching and Student Services is responsible for the Quality Management and Student Affairs departments.
The vice-rector 2 for research, transfer and continuing education is responsible for the Research & Transfer and Third Mission departments.
The Chancellor is responsible for the departments of building management, budget and finance, internal auditing, human resources, first-level support, the data center and legal affairs.

Our excellent lecturers The “Teaching Award” is presented every year
Excellent teaching is an essential prerequisite for successful studies and a key factor for the professional development of students. For this reason, the Verein zur Förderung der Hochschule Bremerhaven e.V. has donated prize money for the “Teaching Award”, with which Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences has honored special achievements by teachers once a year since 2008.
The prize, which is endowed with 1,000 euros, is aimed at professors and teaching staff for special tasks at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences who are characterized by particularly good and innovative teaching concepts and offer students comprehensive support. The money is intended to enable the winners to further develop their excellent teaching and implement new ideas.
Teachers can be recommended by students and other university lecturers. The decision is then made by a jury consisting of two vice-rectors, the deans of studies, one person from the support association and two students. The selection process is accompanied by university didactics
